Built in 1880, this historic building originally housed a branch of The Workingmen’s Beneficial Union (WBU), a major part of its community for over 100 years. After its restoration and reopening, the WBU was kept as the name to honor this building’s rich history. We take pride in our unique event spaces and have worked diligently to restore and showcase the history of this once abandoned building.

The WBU Event Venue is such a beautiful and unique venue! The ballroom space is spacious and we were able to make it our own. Natasha truly cared about making sure our wedding was personal and did not look or feel like a ‘cookie-cutter’ wedding and all of our guests noticed. This place is a true hidden gem with the best people behind it!

We seriously can’t say enough good things about the WBU. We have nothing but positive, incredible memories from our wedding and we want to thank the WBU for that even being possible! We wouldn’t change a thing if we were to go back in time and do it all over again. We would host our wedding at the WBU every time and recommend the venue wholeheartedly to absolutely anyone and everyone!

The venue itself was perfect for our vintage inspired wedding. The ballroom has a classic Americana vibe and an awesome bar. The private green room for getting ready was so useful. Our guests loved how unique the ballroom was - and they loved being able to try drinks from the brewery downstairs as well. The venue has so much authentic Pittsburgh charm. We really wanted a venue with a personality that would shine and be part of the decor itself, and the WBU did exactly that.
